"Like a couple of Outback Quadrant bounty hunters. Alright, you daisies. Now that you successfully switched on your weapons, assume a good firing stance." He dug his feet into the ground, his good leg first, and he pretended to aim his weapon at something.

"Don't lock your knees and elbows; maintain rigidity yet flexibility. Get a good feel of your weight and spread it evenly throughout your body. Once you done that, we can fire at our first target."

Jo spread her legs apart and hefted the blaster up. She knew from her experience from dealing with machines in general that stiff limbs lead to accidents, so she tried to implement what she already knew into that.

Kieran did as he was told, finding a good stance and, after almost dropping the gun, holding it properly. Kieran grinned awkwardly as that could have very well ended badly. And he didn't want to send anyone to the hospital. Or himself for that matter.

Kev imitated Zurg's stance exactly, although his arms shook a bit. He quickly stiffened his arms though.

Kev sighed with relief. So far so-

    BOOM

The blaster went off and made a large hole in one of the trees.

"...........Oops?" Kev said sheepishly. And to think, things were going so good too.

Once his little chickadees did their cutesy stances, he made his rounds, correcting everything he saw.

For Kieran, he gently whacked the boy's back to strengthen it, and tapped his arms. "Affirm yourself, Kieran. This is a blaster, not a pathetic wand those magic users are fond of. Power! Confidence! You'll need this to bolster your aim and will to squeeze the trigger."

For Kev, well...he just sighed and shook his head. "Kev...Oh, Kev...Don't squeeze the trigger and try to stop shaking. You'll miss all your targets this way."

And finally, for Jo. She wasn't so bad, to be honest. She had loose joints, which was good, but she was crooked and held the gun lopsided, so he stepped behind her and fixed her arms, gently bending them into correct positions. "Remember to hold your weapon seriously. When you hold a blaster, it becomes an extension of yourself, not just a tool to be used. Also, Jo. Your weight is imbalanced." He easily fixed this by kicking her legs a bit farther apart, and fixing her hips with his hands.

There, they all looked like real commandos.

"Good! Now, find a target, and fire!"

Zurg came up behind her and adjusted her grip on the blaster, explaining how to properly grip the weapon. His gauntlets were cool against her skin, but strangely gentle. "Extension. Got it."

He spread her legs farther apart and adjusted her stance with his hands on her hips. As he was leaning in, she caught a whiff of that musky scent of his again from him being so close to her and swallowed, trying to grip the blaster steadier as she felt her cheeks become hotter.

She breathed a sigh of relief when he finally moved away, and trained her blaster upon a tree nearby. She pulled the trigger and fired, but completely missed the tree, only scorching the side of its bark slightly. "...Whoops."

Kev ducked his head sheepishly. He took the stance again and kept his arms from shaking this time. He looked over and noticed Jo's........interesting reactions to Zurg's touch.

His shoulders shook with laughter a bit. Heh, the vibes did not lie~~ Those two had chemistry, even if it was just a bit.

He raised the blaster and aimed at a tree. Making sure he didn't shake at all, he pressed the trigger and fired. Unfortunately, the shoot missed the tree completely, and instead hit something in the Amusement Park. They couldn't tell from their position what was hit, but it certainly made quite an explosion.

"................................................Tulsit." Kev said, looking on at the explosion.

Kieran yelped softly in response to Zurg's whack on the back, grimacing as soon as it escaped his mouth. That was manly. It was a good thing Giovanni wasn't here. He would never hear the end of it from the lobster. He shook his head as he tried to do what Zurg told him to. He took aim and blasted, hitting the side of the tree. Not bad for not having used an actual blaster in a few years.

Terrific. All misses--every single one of them.

"Ohhhhhh, my children...We have much work to do." He sighed, rolling his eyes to the sky and shaking his head. "Here, perhaps you're all visual learners." And to demonstrate, he took out his own little blaster and assumed a strong, confident stance, best leg forward, arms drawn and ready to fire.

"Now watch, and Kev, stop looking at Jo. I can hear you snickering."

As Zurg turned his attention back at a far away tree, he took aim, squeezed the trigger and the blaster fired a green volley of super-heated plasma.

BAM! It hit the mark home.

"See? Now, I want you all to assume a powerful stance, self-esteem high, and have another go."

Jo shot a sour look at Kev, though it was only half-serious. If he was laughing at her for having a bad aim, he should be looking at himself for making something in the amusement park explode.

She tried to mimic Zurg's stance, throwing her shoulders back and keep the blaster steady, remembering to spread her legs farther apart, then pulled the trigger and fired.

This time, she did shoot at tree's bark, but it had been off-center, hitting it somewhere at the top-left. Well, that wasn't too bad.

Kieran attempted the more powerful stress. Alas, the word used in the last sentence was 'attempted'. Kieran's stance was still shaky and unsure, not a single drop of confidence seemed to be in it. He took aim and fired once again, hitting just to the right of the same spot he had just hit.

Kev quickly stopped snickering and shot Jo a sour look of his own.

He carefully copied Zurg's stance, and his arms didn't shake this time. He pressed the trigger. He pressed it TOO hard though. Three shots were fired out.

One shot hit a tree, dead center in the middle. Well, there was a good shot! A lucky shot, but still, he'd take it.

The second shot nearly hit Zurg, but luckily it was far enough away to keep from hitting him.

The third shot went straight up in the air. It was still up there apparently, because he had not seen it land or heard anything explode.

When they fired again, he felt somewhat better.

"Hmmm, not bad, Jo, but try to aim next time. Any fool with a gun can fire, but not everyone can aim. Do remember that when it comes to your life." He critiqued.

As for Kieran, he seemed to have good practice but he felt a little rusty.

"Kieran, add more confidence! You can't expect to fire a gun while being a patsy! Shoot to kill, not to play tea and make believe!" He grunted.

And then...Kev. The moment the alien had squeezed the trigger, bad things went in Zurg's mind. One, the boy would probably kill someone. Two, there were petunias out there. And three, he would probably shoot the Evil Emperor somehow.

Oddly, three became a reality and Zurg had to jump backwards in the nick of time, the plasma blob wobbling through the air and landing onto a bush, incinerating it in one wimpy go.

".................Much better than round one, I guess." He sighed, looking back at them all with his arms crossed. "Again!"

She would rather unscrew a guy's nuts than learn how to fire a blaster, but anyway. It wasn't like she could use her wrench all the time.

Resuming the previous stance, she tried to aim more carefully this time before pulling the trigger.

Craters! She missed the mark, just barely! But she was getting the hang of it now. If she regulated her breathing, it came easier, like when building machines from scratch.

Kieran bit his lip, keeping his stance he fired again. Still he barely missed his mark. Craters! Why couldn't he have the confidence he had when-When he was evil! Kieran couldn't help but growl softly. He wasn't evil, he wasn't good, there was nothing for him as a neutral. What good was he?!

Kieran sat down on the ground, looking down at the blaster in his hands. The cyborg merely sighed and remained still.
