    Late night visit.

Breaking into the hospital was just a bit trickier than breaking out. For one, the vent was off the ground, so while someone could jump from it to the ground, jumping up, especially for someone vertically challenged, could be a bitch. Not to mention it wasn't like the hospital didn't have security. You had to time that shit just right, otherwise you'd be in a lot of trouble. And once you were in it was a bitch to navigate, not only could you fall or hurt yourself, but it was dark and dusty and filled with god knows what. And the hospital was huge, good luck finding a room.

That really didn't leave tally with many options except to crawl around in the vents on a wild goose hunt for a specific room.

Dammit, Livewire was just causing her all sorts of problems today. First she didn't show up to talk, and then she turned around and got herself hit by a car. Who the hell got hit by a car? They were fucking cars for christ sakes, they were large metal boxes that went down the road. They weren't exactly hard to see. Mind you, much of tally's callousness came from her worry, she was fond of Livewire after all. And to know that the other managed to get so injured made her uneasy and worried.

Shame she couldn't get to the other sooner, however, if she dropped out of the vents to take a peek at the patient list then a nurse or someone else would probably spot her and throw her out. Not what she wanted really. So tally was forced to continue to search the vents, peeking into every dark room until finally. Fucking. Finally. She came across a familiar body laying on a hospital bed with her computer open.

    Found you dammit.

Tally hoped she scared livewire when she opened the vent with out warning. Yes livewire, something was coming for you. Prepare yourself.

Out the vents Tally crawled, dropping to the ground covered in dirt and dust and looking rather unhappy.

How do you get hit by a car?

Livewire was rather bored. Even though she was talking with her friends on her laptop, she still was bored. It just wasn't the same talking to Karkat when she couldn't actually SEE Karkat! She really hated this. It also didn't help that she could only use one arm at the moment, since the other was securely bound in a cast. She had only woken up a few hours ago and she was already as worried as she was before this all happened. What if they launched the attack on Anderson without her? What if her family and friends got hurt because she wasn't there to help? ...what was in the vents?

The bright yellow text of her unfinished response glowed on her screen as she looked up at the ceiling. There was something in the vents! Were there supposed to be things in the vents? Livewire didn't know, she hadn't stayed in a hospital overnight before. Well...maybe it's something that...requires vent-crawling? She really didn't know...

She stopped her response and started a new one to Karkat, juuuust in case that thing in the vents was not supposed to be there OH GOD IT'S TALLY.

Livewire stared at Tally's dirty form and...rather angry eyes. Oh boy she did not look happy. She opened her mouth to say hello, but was interrupted by Tally's own beginning statement.

    "Um...by...getting hit?"

    Dear god...how do you even.......just...

Tally sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose as if she was getting a headache. Livewire's response just blew her mind. How do you just get hit by a car? Honestly, how? You didn't get hit by a car, cars just don't drive around and run over people for the hell of it. Unless some douche bag was behind the wheel and wanted to run people over.

But really, why would anyone run over livewire? She was barely four feet tall and had the face of a fucking angel. It made no sense.....

They said that you got run over by someone. Were they driving on the sidewalk or something? Tally pulled up a chair and sat down next to livewire's bed.

Livewire stared at Tally in concern. She didn't look too good, and that was coming from the girl in the hospital bed who had a hole in the back of her head yesterday. She hated seeing her friends get stressed, especially if it was over something she had done. How was it that Tally only had to say a few things to make her feel guilty for something that wasn't even her fault?

Shifting in her bed, Livewire turned herself to face towards Tally as she pulled up a chair beside her. She typed a quick response to the worried gray text on her screen, assuring Karkat that the intruder was Tally and that she was fine. She didn't want to worry anyone else, after all. That would be awful!

Livewire's hand fiddled with the IV going into her wrist. She had accidentally ripped it out earlier and the nurse had to put it back in. Oh no! She had forgotten to ask the nurse's name! Now she was being rude, too! Livewire's concerned expression turned into a slight worried frown at this thought. But she shouldn't think about that right now! Tally was here!

"No, they weren't drivin' on the sidewalk. I don't think...yeah, I think I just went into the road. I dun' really remember."

Tally continued to watch livewire from where she sat, the light from the girls computer made her look too much like a corpse. Livewire wasn't someone who should be in a hospital, nor should she have been hit by a car. She was too....sunny. Not suited for the walls of the hospital.

How did you manage to get run over then? Did you walk out into the street or something?

Tally leaned back further in her chair and continued to observe the other.

You caused quite the stir. I couldn't even ask what happened to you without people getting all up in a huff and thomas flipping tables. He seems to do that a lot, for some odd reason.

After getting herself all situated so that she could look at Tally while at the same time making sure that her computer didn't fall, as that would be terrible! What would she do when it was quiet if she didn't have her computer? Nothing, and Livewire did NOT like being bored. Not one bit! She smiled a bit at Tally, but this smile was also composed of a slight wince as the turning she had done earlier pulled at her IV some and it was not a very pleasant feeling. But she would deal with that later.

"I think I walked inta' the street, but I don't really remember."

Her eyes squinted a bit in the light from her computer as she looked at Tally. Her eyesight was the worst as a human, of that she was sure. She could barely see Tally! Her expression became tinged once again with concern when Tally relayed the events of the Sanctuary, and then it morphed into one of shame. She was just causing trouble everywhere, wasn't she?

" 'm sorry for causing trouble."

How do you walk out into a street? Tally said sharply, she sounded more angry than she actually was. If anything she was confused. Livewire, no matter what species she managed to turn herself, was a cybertronian. She was a taxi, a freaking taxi. She had driven on roads before hadn't she? And didn't OV teach her not to walk into oncoming traffic?

    What the heck?

Tally adjusted herself in the seat, leaning back into it and crossing her leg over her right. Don't be. They're being nothing but dramatic. You're alive, you're going to survive. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and you'll be out of here in a couple of days tops probably. They're all acting like a bunch of dramatic pussies getting all worked up over nothing. Tally began to braid her hair, the few stray beads that remained clicking quietly as she did so.

I can understand them being worried, hell, I was worried. But these new bloods take shit completely out of proportion. Bunch of losers. Tally grumbled to herself, trailing off. Make no mistake, her original problem with the new bloods had long since been settled. However a new problem with them was beginning to rear its head. They were arrogant, they were cocky, they talked shit, and yet they refused to fight. They refused to put their money where their mouths were.

In the old days that would have never passed. Tally had half the mind to drag the next new blood that started shit and refused to fight out of the sanctuary and into the stadium. People needed to learn respect and give it before they got it. And while some of the new bloods were of the respectable sort, those other fighters for example. A large amount of them were dramatic pussies.

"I just...did." What was she supposed to say? Livewire flinched at Tally's tone and curled up on herself a little as her expression filled with more shame and a slight tinge of hurt. She was too young to realize that being angry was a good way to cover up how worried someone was, and so she didn't know that Tally was just concerned over her. She hated when people were mad at her. It was as if Tally was hitting her in the face with her words instead of her fists. Well...okay, considering how much damage Tally can deal out that is probably not an accurate comparison, but moving on!

"They're just really stressed an' stuff. A lot of them just got here, an' I dun' think they know how to deal with it an' stuff." Livewire may not be a veteran like Tally, but she had seen more than her fair share of the shenanigans common to Portal Breach. She knew that everyone was stressed, and she also felt guilty for causing them even more stress and worry. This was the last thing all of them needed right now, and it really didn't help that Livewire, even though she intended to fight as much as she could and do as much as she was able to stop it, did not expect all of them to come back from the raid. She didn't like thinking about it, but...well, her inability to stop thinking about it is pretty much what got her into this entire mess.

Such are the trials of those raised in this hectic world. Well, in Livewire's case, anyway.

You just did why? Tally asked, raising her eyebrow to the younger. People just didn't walk into the street for no reason. Unless there was something wrong with them or they were stupid. Tally examined livewire from where she sat. Livewire had never struck her as stupid, naive, but not stupid.

Why would she just walk into the street?

Some of them got here months ago. Tally could sympathize with those who just arrived, it wasn't easy knowing everything that had been familiar and close to you was gone. But the others....

They need to learn. She said sternly. They don't have it nearly as bad as some of us did in the early days. Before death was even prominent. Oh yes, there had once been a time where death was rarely seen. No one died, and those who did die were rare, they could almost be called glitches in a near perfect system. Though if the system was ever going to be perfect was still a question.

They need to adapt, learn to roll with the punches and take it in stride. Otherwise they're not going to be here long. Those that couldn't adapt always died or were cast out.

Valerie, who hadn't been able to accept others and had been cast out.

Dani, the original, who had said either dead or also gone. Most likely dead, she had insulted some very dangerous people after all.

Delilah, who had not been able to look past her own biased opinions of others.

    Wise, that fox....thing....

Kasumi, who was gone now forever probably.

The list went. Those who couldn't adapt or wouldn't adapt either ended up dead, gone, or rejected by society. Did Tally sound harsh? Yes.But she was being honest.

Are you in any pain? She asked now, taking in Livewire's injuries. Why the robot wished to remain human was far beyond her. If she had just stayed cybertronian then she wouldn't have taken nearly as much damage.

"I just didn't see the road, I guess." Livewire glanced down at the cast surrounding her arm, trying to avoid Tally's gaze. In truth she remembered exactly what happened. She knew why she didn't see the road, or the car, but she didn't want to tell Tally. Tally was one of the only people Livewire knew that treated her like she actually knew what she was doing. Tally did intimidate Livewire sometimes, but she felt like she actually had some respect from the woman, that Tally wouldn't try to protect Livewire from the world that could not be protected against. The last thing she wanted was to look weak in front of Tally. She had already thrown up at just the sight of the Medic defacing the kitchen. She didn't want to tell Tally that she was going crazy, too.

"They'll learn. They have to." Tally's memories and experiences with those who did not learn were not shared by Livewire, but the girl was able to pick up on Tally's implication. She didn't want to see any more of her friends or family disappear. It felt like so many had already, and Livewire hadn't even been here a year yet. She looked away from her cast at Tally's next question, a little surprised at the switch in topic.

"Um...not really. My head kinda hurts sometimes, but it's just a little bit."

"I just didn't see the road, I guess." Tally got the inkling suspicion that this wasn't fully true. Livewire seemed to be....avoiding her gaze. Was she lying? Tally doubted that. Livewire had no real reason to lie to her, plus....Tally was sure Livewire would be very good at deceit. Shame then? Why? Why would she be ashamed of walking in front of a car?

Perhaps it was her. Tally knew she was, to say the least, rough around the edges. She was abrasive, even harsh at times. Though compared to how she had been it was an improvement. Still, abrasive behavior was usually reserved for those she didn't care for or new arrivals who she wasn't impressed with. This was Livewire, someone Tally actually would lay claim to. A list that had slowly been dwindling as the years went on.

To be on that list said something.

Were you distracted? She asked the other before shifting in her seat.

With a sigh Tally relaxed her posture, which had been more rigid and tense than she remembered it being at first. She didn't bother adding in any more of her thoughts about the new-bloods. Her first problem with them, and her initial violence towards them, had long since been put to rest. There were still issues with them though, issues that got under her skin. But Livewire was not the person to voice them too.

She was young, almost new herself, having just arrived last fall. She was also friends with a majority of the new-bloods, even a lover to one of them. No, Tally would save her opinions for older ears, people who would not be as hurt by her opinions as Livewire. Besides, this wasn't the time or the place.

There were more important things at the moment than her opinions.

I've got aspirin in my bag if you want any. Wait, what sort of medication do they have you on? I don't want to screw up anything they have you on.

Livewire nodded in response to Tally's question. She concentrated on the glow of her computer screen. It helped when she had something to look at right there. She didn't have to see the pictures then, and there was nothing quite like thinking about your mother's organs covering the ground to ruin your day. Well, it ruins Livewire's day, anyway.

She really wished she didn't feel so uncomfortable around Tally. Tally was her friend! Sure, Livewire wanted to impress her, but Tally had seen her when she first came here and before she knew anything at all! Tally was one of the first people she met who she'd stayed in constant contact with, and considering where they started off, this was a pretty big deal. Livewire loved Tally. She shouldn't hide things from her.

At this thought, suddenly the computer screen seemed a lot less interesting as Livewire put it to the side to turn to Tally and smile. Sure, she had done something stupid and worried a lot of people, but it wasn't like she could control it at the time! Besides, Tally was here to talk to her! She couldn't be TOO mad at the femme if she still wanted to speak!

"Thanks! But 'm good! I've already got some stuff that does that runnin' through me an' stuff!" Livewire was still a bit nervous, but it was okay. Her friend was here.

    "So how're you?"

Tally watched livewire watch the computer screen. She wasn't quite sure what to think about the other at the moment.

"Thanks! But 'm good! I've already got some stuff that does that runnin' through me an' stuff!"

Alright then. Tally said adjusting herself in her chair.

    "So how're you?"

Fine. We missed our chance to talk today. We were suppose to meet up to speak. Tally said once again adjusting herself, this time she pulled both of her legs up into the chair with her.

Livewire tilted her head a little bit in thought on Tally's last statement. Was she supposed to meet Tally that day...? Oh yeah! She was! She probably just forgot about it in the face of certain other events, you know, like getting hit by a car and cracking her skull open. That happens sometimes.

" 'm sorry, Tally! But we can still talk now!"

Livewire finally closed her laptop and set it aside before turning fully to face Tally. Oh how she hated moving around with this IV stuck in her. She swore, she could feel the needle move every time she twitched! It was so annoying, but she tried to not let it bother her. She was here to recover, not to get even MORE stressed!

"So what do ya wanna talk about?"

It's fine Livewire, I imagine you were busy with other things. Yeah, getting hit by a car probably would fuck up anyone's schedule. With the laptop closed the room was now much darker than before, Tally took a minute to allow her eyes to adjust before starting in on the conversation.

Just figured we'd talk about my trip. I know you wanted to hear some stories about what happened. I thought we also might talk about some other things too. Like what you're going to be doing when it comes down to invasion.

Tally played with the end of her braid.

Or really, we could just talk about whatever you want. I'm not picky.
