Whilst Prixlezub quirked a brow, Impa narrowed her gaze slightly as she too focused on the intrepid wolverine. Sure enough, the shuffling carnivore made his way into the cave just past their current line of sight. Keeping her own sights on the cave for now, she nodded at her companion's words, right before adding, "Considering the size of the cubs, I would think it might be looking for any food that they have left in the cave… if there is any, of course."

As the demon and Sheikah continued to wait atop the higher branches, the quiet of the forest was very suddenly shattered by fierce noises emanating from the cave. The roars, growls, and snarls echoed out for a good few minutes, and while Impa could imagine much of what was going on from what she was hearing and otherwise sensing, no one but those in the cave could actually see all that was transpiring. Even with the size differences between the mother bear and the wolverine, neither was likely to back down so easily. Eventually though, the wolverine emerged from the cave, scurrying away with a sizable piece of carrion in his jaws.

"Indeed you were… hunting must have been difficult lately for that animal to brave such a den for his meal," mused Impa. Still whispering, she noted, "The next question is whether he will be able to keep it or not."

As the wolverine returned to the brush that it had first emerged from, the mother bear lumbered right back out of the cave, sniffing the ground as she tried to pick up the trail of the thief. No matter what she did next, this would definitely prove interesting to watch.

Prixlezub nodded in agreement with Impa, it would certainly be a sight to see if the wolverine would be able to keep its small cache of stolen food. Within the cave, surprised gurgles and growls could be heard from the cubs, who were undoubtedly still dumbfounded over the whole incident. As for the mother, the demon's gaze shifted back to the large sow, as she growled irritably in the direction of the retreating badger. To leave her cubs and go after the badger, or stay and hunt tomorrow for food. After a moment of turning her head back to look at the cubs, it seemed she decided to go with the former.

"There she goes." Prixlezub whispered, watching as the formidable mother lumbered off into the brush. "That badger had better be as good at running as he was at stealing." He mused as his gaze turned to the cave once more.

As tempting as it was to get closer and see the bear cave, Prixlezub doubted that the mother would be away for long. There was no doubt in his mind that he could certainly take on the mother bear, but the demon had no interest in orphaning the cubs this evening. After all, what sport was there in killing off game that had not even reached maturity yet? Turning to Impa, Prixlezub glanced to the darkening horizon. Wow, the two really seemed to have been out here a while, but it felt so short. "We should get moving, if we stay here much longer the mother will return and most likely be more vigilant than before." He suggested quietly. While the demon did not mind watching the local wildlife, he preferred to do so on his own terms.

"If we stay to the trees, she probably will not pick up our scent." He stated, glancing at the branches around them. Even though he doubted the bear would want to follow his smoky scent, there was never such thing as being too careful with the wildlife.

Impa watched as the mother bear seemed to wrestle with the choice of whether to pursue the badger or remain with them. Either call had its benefits of course, but after a moment and a quick glance back at her cubs, she seemed determined to catch up to the thieving wolverine.

"Mm…" nodded Impa, also watching as the mother bear followed after the smaller carnivore that had so boldly stolen from her own den. Looking back to the confused cubs in the cave before focusing her sights on the brush again, she added, "I have a feeling he might need to try evasion more than just outrunning the bear, though."

With the shuffling posture of the wolverine, it would undoubtedly be interesting to see just how he might try to avoid detection from the mother bear. In a head-on encounter, the wolverine's tenacity would more than make up for the distinct size advantage of the bear. She might have been the favorite in just about any scuffle between the two of them, but other factors could always come into play.

Nodding in response to Prixlezub's suggestion, Impa whispered, "I agree." The two seemed to catch the same direction that was best for them to head for the time being, so with another nod to his statement about where they had best stay on their resumed track, she quietly said, "I was thinking the same thing. Shall we?"

With that, the demon prince and Sheikah started to make their way through the forest by way of treetop. Indeed, it was a very nice thing to be able to travel in more than just one fashion.

Prixlezub gave an amused chuckle a he moved through the branches, to imagine the wolverine trying to outmaneuver a bear was all too interesting. "Indeed, lets." He replied to the Sheikah, before moving on his way as well. Boughs creaked and rustled under the disguised prince's weight as he climbed, a few of them requiring some extra effort as he jumped from one onto another. A few colorful sights caught the demon's eye, namely the nests of birds, a few lined with feathers, others bearing eggs and young birds. An interesting sight considering the season, Prixlezub thought on passing, before his thoughts turned to the direction he was heading in. From the sound he figured that their direction was heading towards another source of water, though obviously faster flowing than the small stream they had passed earlier.

"Hm, it sounds like there is a river ahead." The demon rumbled observantly, climbing to a higher branch in order to get their bearings. "I am going to see if I can spot it from up here." His head soon breached the canopy, taking in the sun which was halfway down from the horizon. Prixlezub could not help but sit there for a few moments, taking in the scenery. Already part of the sky was darkening to its usual, dark violet hue, while the rest was still blazing with bright reds and yellows. As beautiful as the forest was at this hour, the demon's sights set once more on the sounds of flowing water, his brow furrowing as he turned his head in its direction.

Once Impa was up where he was, Prixlezub pointed towards a shimmering, orange-ish ripple that shone through the shallower canopies. "Down there. Maybe we will get to see some other fauna, the nocturnal ones should be waking up about now." He said thoughtfully.

The shimmering river seemed to stretch on longer, now that the demon got a better look at it, his gaze turning to a cliff in the distance. His eyes could clearly make out a waterfall, which reflected the last retreating rays of the sun, coloring the water in various hues of crimson and gold. Though the demon was more fond of regarding the rapid waters from a distance, he could not see any reason why they could not get closer. As long as there was no swimming involved, of course.

The Sheikah and demon moved swiftly and silently through the trees, running and leaping from branch to branch as they turned the canopy into a veritable track of their own. It was not quite an obstacle course, but working their way across the treetops was still proving to be as enjoyable as it was sensical. Even with their higher vantage point, the sights of the forest were not lost on them. If anything, this alternate view made things just a bit more interesting, and it seemed that given the time of day, the factor of intrigue was only going to increase.

Impa had caught the sound of rushing water too, and she soon nodded once Prixlezub stated that it was just ahead of their position. It was just out of sight from their current angle, but it was definitely rather close. As he noted that he was going to see if he could locate it, Impa said, "I'll be right there."

At that, the demon prince made his way higher up the tree that he was currently in until his head poked through the top of the highest part of the canopy. As he took a moment to observe the scenery, the Sheikah did much the same from the middle area of the canopy that she was currently in. The light filtering through the treetops was starting to dim even more, and it was bringing out a particular sort of beauty that brought her both a sense of peace and nostalgia for the woods near her home village.

Impa soon disappeared and promptly reappeared higher up in her own tree so that she had caught up to Prixlezub's position. Her gaze followed his gesture as he motioned to where the river was, and she nodded in agreement with his next musing. "Quite possibly. With the activity just past the falls, we are very likely to find at least a couple of curious animals near them."

With a shared nod, the two took off again, steadily making their way closer to the river. Impa did not mind water the way that Prixlezub did of course… in fact she rather enjoyed a good swim or venture into it. This evening however, she was perfectly content to play the part of observer, regardless of the currently cool temperature of the river.

More rustling and creaking of boughs as both demon and Sheikah started off towards the river. Though the demon was not familiar with Impa's people, he could not help but admire his acquaintance's physical prowess. Even a human with similar dexterity would have asked for rest by now, especially with how they were traveling through treetop instead of walking on the ground. A swifter mode of traveling, but more taxing on the body, he decided. While he could certainly deduce that part of her stamina was brought on from her training, he had a feeling that it was a built on something that was there prior.

Prixlezub's attention returned to the "path" ahead of them, climbing and jumping from branch to branch. The sound of running water drew closer, and below the demon could hear the clatter of hooves upon soft ground. Deer, or perhaps some other hooved denizen of the woods, he figured. A few birds crowed and chattered their outrage as the both of them passed through their domain, their shrill cries continuing even as they left before finally calming and dying down. It reminded the prince all too much of the forests in the Material Plane, inwardly making Prixlezub wonder if a few creatures from there managed to get abducted to this place as well. Glancing over at Impa, the demon decided to break the silence once more.

"This place is quite bountiful of fauna, many of the creatures seem exotic even to this land." He rumbled. "I figure like us, the portals bring creatures from all different planes to this gamma, like a great menagerie of some sort."

It only made sense if one thought about it. If people of many different races could come here, why not the food and animals from their homes as well. Although, the demon could not help but ponder the fact that he had not seen any of his kin besides Layla running about, unlike some others who had their entire families and friends brought with them. Was there a preference to those groups, or had they simply picked the lucky draw? Prixlezub was not the kind to complain if there was no need to, but considering that there were not faces like his own besides the metallic vehicles that uncannily resembled his kind, it got admittedly... Lonesome.

However, such laments were hardly for the ears of his acquaintance, or the beasts of the woods.

Whilst Impa did appreciate and know how to best utilize a rest around traveling regardless of the method of such, her dexterity was matched only by her endurance. Moving by way of treetop was a bit more strenuous than moving on the ground was, but given the way that she was able to leap from branch to branch between both natural and trained ability, it was only a very slight difference for her. Given the celerity of this mode of travel, that was something that the Sheikah was rather grateful for.

As Prixlezub forged forward on the path that was before them, Impa continued to follow him at his side, a few trees in between the duo being the main distance marker as they got closer and closer to the river. They could both hear it now, and around their own tree hopping, the Sheikah was fairly certain that she could pick up some of the sounds of the native fauna. The loud birds they passed through in the trees were only some of what they could hear, but thankfully, they did not seem to disturb many of the other nearby animals even with their sudden chorus.

Turning to Prixlezub as he spoke, Impa nodded to him before stating, "So it would seem. In my time here, I have encountered a great number of animals, both native as well as those that were clearly brought here much like ourselves. Some of them I have seen have even been from my native world of Hyrule."

Whilst she had run into a good number of Hyrulean monsters since arriving on the Breach, the Sage of Shadow had also had the fortune to find various other forms of fauna from her homeworld. These ranged from some interesting wildlife all the way to the Lon Lon cows that she and Link had found on one of their previous quests. Running into familiar animals was not the same as seeing any familiar individual from ones original home of course, but even when such an encounter happened to be with a monster that one might have only hoped to see in a bestiary, the sense of familiarity was still welcome.

"It is interesting to see how they all come together, though… it's much more like a natural drift instead of anything invasive," mused Impa. With so many creatures being pulled from their respective worlds, that was a fortunate effect at least… and as they got closer to the river, it would undoubtedly leave them with some potentially interesting groupings to see.

"Ah yes, the variety has proved to be fairly challenging game as well." The demon remarked thoughtfully as he bounded over a branch. "One of them was a Leviathan, a fairly interesting beast to hunt."

The prince was not quick to forget his first and second attempts at hunting the kings of the mountain. Their electrically charged hides, powerful jaws, and a rather intriguing ability to float over the rocky landscape as well. Even if he had not given the killing blow on one of them, he still was able to gain a few trophies from the alien creatures. One of them in mechanical custody, while the other was hung on the wall of his own home. Though, the prince certainly would not mind having a few more of his challenging prey's trophies on his wall, and maybe on some others as well. Maybe the Sheikah would not mind coming along on such a hunt as well, the demon pondered.

Impa brought up another interesting point about the gamma, namely how everything seemed to coexist so well. In any other environment, one species would inevitably be killed off by an invading one. Here, dragons, bears, Leviathans... They all existed quite well together. Though, the demon had a hypothesis regarding this phenomenon as well. "I see what you mean, so many diverse creatures live here and yet there does not seem to be a real threat of extinction of the weaker ones." He rumbled evenly, slowing his pace as they drew close to the river's edge. "At the same time, perhaps it is but a matter of time before a pecking order is established and the weaker species are inevitably killed off within the cycles."

If a leviathan was no match for the demon prince despite its size and might, a bear was no match for a leviathan, and so on. Prixlezub's hands gripped a branch above him, a few birds chattering in the distance in response to the few creatures that fled the tree he paused in. Below, the river coursed lazily, mottled with a shimmer of gold from the fading sun. It was quite wide, and given the darkness of the water; deep enough that it would require a strong swimming ability to cross it. His grip tensed on the branch above him, though the disguised demon was hardly flinching in his expressions. His eyes scanned over the shaded banks, silently awaiting the arrival of another forest denizens.

Despite his human appearance, his eyes were much more keen than the average man, a few specific things able to be made clear to him even in the low light. Especially the beasts, ripe with strong, fresh energy.

"Indeed… I have only hunted a few times for certain meals here, but each challenge has been thoroughly rewarding." Whilst Impa would of course purchase most of the meat for any of the meals that she made, some forms of sustenance could only be obtained by way of hunting… and as back in her native Hyrule, the Sheikah still stuck to the ways of her people. They focused primarily on obtaining what could be farmed or bought at the market, but for certain feasts, hunting was the key. Raising her eyebrows at the one beast Prixlezub named, Impa asked, "A Leviathan? Now that does sound interesting. What sort of creature was it exactly?"

The Sage of Shadow knew of the term for a great number of monsters, a list that only seemed to grow the longer she was on the Breach, but with so many creatures that could be deemed such, she was curious about this particular version of the beast. Many Leviathans reminded her of Lord Jabu Jabu or even the legendary King Levias of days past, both of them far more whale-like in appearance. If this was on land though, then that certainly opened up another possibility for yet another form of an animal with a common name.

Nodding at the demon's mention of the diversity not seeming to cause any issue for any of the number of species yet, Impa too began to slower her pace as Prixlezub mused on the possibility of that balance shifting after some time. "Quite possibly. And then that raises the question if their own being pulled here does have some order or sense to it, as opposed to the random selection that appears to be the case for most of the citizens. Regardless, nature tends to have a way of balancing itself out… I suspect that over the coming years, we might see some species flourish, others vanish, and many more spread out as they all adapt to the Breach."

Change was nature, but even with the unpredictable nature of what creatures would arrive in this world, it was safe to say that this world would keep itself balanced, regardless of any number of cycles or ages it went through.

Once the two had reached the river's edge, they both stopped in their respective trees, each of them looking over the river that was before them. The light from the sunset was starting to dim further, dappling the smooth waters with streaks of gold as the more nocturnal animals began to slowly venture towards it. As a Sheikah, Impa possessed excellent night vision, and as such was still able to see quite well even as the sky continued to darken. Before too long, she spotted their first larger visitor to the river… a pair of large elk that had started to very carefully trot out from the cover of the trees. Smiling slightly at the sight of them, she whispered, "It seems we have our first arrivals…"

Ah, so the Sheikah was a huntress herself. Unsurprising given her occupation and the dexterity she demonstrated as they had moved through the trees. Though, the demon could not help but feel a curiosity regarding Impa's prowess bubble up in his mind, and threatening to dance upon his tongue as well. Her next question however, drew his attention somewhat from his internal pondering. "Leviathans are great creatures, fish-faced serpents that float upon the breeze without the aid of wings, never landing, and often exude a sort of electrical charge from their bodies. When I faced one in battle, I learned they have quite a tough hide upon their back and a tenacity to match." Not to mention an ornery streak long enough to chase their attackers down a mountainside. "Their bodies are nearly as large as myself, when I am in my natural form that is. If you wish to seek their challenge sometime, I remember seeing them around the higher peaks of the mountains, coasting among the mist."

Just speaking about his previous battle with the creatures was beginning to make the demon reminisce, and even miss the challenges that presented himself when he was still new to this plane. Now, many creatures were hardly worth the fight. And the more intelligent of prey? Too boisterous for their own good, and much too confident for their weakened states. To call them intelligent started to sound like the wrong choice of wording, now that he thought of it. Perhaps noisy was a better term. Otherwise, there were not many challenges left for the demon to face in terms of his fighting abilities. Perhaps it was high time the demon sought out something new...

Impa's affirming response brought a small hum from the demon's throat, his gaze glancing over to the Sheikah as he searched the riverside for any arrivals. "Quite so, only time will tell which will stay and which will die out." He remarked evenly. It reminded him of the way the breach often affected the citizens, as he watched many arrive, only to see them fade away or outright disappear after a period of time. Such a system cost the demon prince a few choice sparring partners, and a handful of allies.

To the prince's surprise, it was the Sheikah who spotted the first native beast to stop by the river. Quickly looking over to the muffled sounds of hooves, Prixlezub noted the approaching animals, his gaze fixed keenly on them despite the low light. "Ah yes, they are quite a healthy pair, aren't they." He observed quietly. "They look quite mature, perhaps in their seventh or eighth year given their size."

Impa listened with great intrigue as Prixlezub described the Leviathans that he had encountered here. It seemed that the great beasts of the mountains were in fact far more fish and serpent like in nature as opposed to the cetacean-esque ones that she herself was more familiar with. She was not surprised to learn that they floated in the wind even without a visibly apparent flight mechanism, as she knew of a great number of creatures that could do similar, and their electrical nature reminded her of the Bari from Hyrule, as well as many other aquatic monsters. Discovering the fact about their electrical charge, tough hide, fierce tenacity, and immense size certainly raised her curiosity about them, and whether she wound up facing them for a personal challenge or not in the future, she was certainly interested in observing them sometime.

Nodding as her companion noted where the Leviathans were best found, Impa stated, "Ah, I see... they do sound like quite the beasts. Thank you for the information on their location... I might just seek them out at some point."

Impa seemed to have fared at least a bit better with challenges and battles with monsters since she had arrived on the Breach. As far as combat with more noisy opponents... she tended to have been able to avoid much of that. Outside of any Breach-wide threats such as the recent Phazon crisis, her main challenges seemed to have been more random monster encounters and far more importantly helping to train her four charges. With the cooler weather on the way, she was getting better chances to help train Sheik, Link, Link, and Aicara in general as well as with some special things to consider when fighting in cooler weather. For one, both the disguised princess and young Sheikah had been able to better use some ice magic, and the three bow users had been able to try out a couple of new tricks with fire and ice arrows. As the demon prince might have sought something new with regardless to facing on the battlefield, for now, the Sage of Shadow had a different set of challenges she was focusing on. As ever though... she always liked learning of a new one.

"Indeed... that it will," Impa added with a nod. The wildlife on the Breach did seem to have picked up a pattern akin to that of the citizens that arrived here, but at least these things appeared to go in cycles.

Studying the newly arrived pair of elk as Prixlezbub mused on their overall build, Impa nodded thoughtfully before whispering, "So they seem to be... I would not be surprised if they are two of the stronger of their herd in the area."

As the stag and doe trotted forward, their ears flicked about to confirm that the riverside was safe before either of them saw fit to drink. A few tense moments passed before they both moved to quench their thirst, the stag finishing first and soon moving to raise his head again, his mighty antlers casting an impressive shadow across the banks even in the ever decreasing light. He appeared to be keeping watch, making certain that he had not in fact heard another visitor, or if he had, just what it might be.

So the sheikah was intrigued enough with the Leviathans to search for them herself. The demon could admire a healthy curiosity for possible game, though he had a feeling it was not just for the hunt that Impa was interested. Almost anyone out of their home world with the education that the warrior had undoubtedly wished to learn more about it. Perhaps she would be able to learn something that escaped the prince's experience with the beasts. Prixlezub gave a small glance to the woman as she thanked him for the information. "You are welcome. The more one learns about this place, the more the advantage is shifted in their favor." He remarked quietly.

The demon did not say much after that, his gaze focused on the large elk that were cautiously checking the river. His attention perked towards the Sage of Shadow when she spoke of the two animals once more, though he kept his amber gaze on the two. "Perhaps so. Maybe the rest of their herd will come to the river as well once they decide it is safe. I would not mind seeing if they are going through a population boon as are the bears, or if the predators are making a large meal of their numbers." The demon mused quietly, watching as the stag leaned down to take a drink, soon followed by the female.

The two animals reminded the prince of a few similar animals on the Material Plane, though they were slightly bigger than the two at the river from what he remembered. Instead of the dark brown coat on their bodies, the creatures often varied in hues of blond to white and some even an abyssal black complexion. Though the last coloration tended to be the rarer of the three, and tended to be regarded as a sign from whatever gods the citizens in the area believed in. Sometimes it was good, other times it was an ill omen of plagues and poor fate. Regardless of the omen, it was seen as right and traditional to hunt it down and drain the stag of its blood. A grisly and primitive act, but not entirely taboo considering the demon's own culture. However, the demon fund it interesting that the hunters never took back the meat or hide of the stag. Perhaps it was a superstition regarding the omen that it supposedly gave, or something more practical regarding the beast's health.

Either way, the demon often saw it as a waste of good resources from a strong animal.

Prixlezub observed the two elk as they drank, preferring to keep silent for the moment. Compared to the bluster and noise of the bear family and their neighbor the wolverine, the quiet calm was welcome.

"Quite true," noted Impa at Prixlezub's statement. Much like the demon prince, the Sheikah did like to learn about various things, new creatures being just one topic of curiosity. Her own study and research might have differed from his own at different points, but it did seem that they were both always set to add to their ever-growing knowledge base.

Nodding slightly at Prixlezub's musing on the present duo of elk and their possible herd, Impa too settled to appreciate the quiet calm that this new vantage point afforded them. After a few more moments, the look from the stag seemed to have served as a signal of sorts, as a score of elk started to emerge from the thick woods. Whilst these impressive animals were built to survive just as well in the forest as they were the plains, it was still very interesting to see just how well they maneuvered past the trunks of the trees past the riverbed. The stags had to shift their heads to ensure that their own antlers did not get stuck in any low-hanging branches, and whilst the does did not have that same concern, their own frames were not so slight that they could just slip into the clearing. Tricky as some of their trot was, they still appeared without issue, and in short order, each of them were by the decreasingly sun-dappled river.

Any potential predators of the elk seemed to be quite a ways off or at the very least currently disinterested given the herd's behavior, but even so, as they all drank in turn, there were at least a couple of watchful heads turned back towards the body of the forest. Their large ears were trained in alternate directions to add to that, but even though they did not possess quite the same level of hearing that their two silent observers did, they appeared set to pick up anything untoward. As it was though, the elk had gained the same quiet that Prixlezub and Impa had, even if smaller creatures might have seen fit to visit the river now that the sun had fully set yet.

Whilst the mother bear had had her young cubs, most of the elk here appeared to be healthy adults or older adolescents. Despite the lack fawns of in the herd, a careful observation of a few of the does might show that come the spring, that might not be the case. This fact seemed to lend to the ever watchful nature of the rest of the herd, and once she caught a good chance to whisper to her companion, Impa mused, "It seems the bear cubs will not be the only younger ones in a few months' time..."

Prixlezub kept silent as he observed the elk, noticing the rest of the herd that soon emerged from the forest. Many of them were older females, from what the demon could detect from their scent. A few others were adolescent males, not yet ready to leave the herd. He watched as they looked around before leaning their heads down to drink, a few raising their heads to watch over the others. Prixlezub took a moment to glance around, seeing if he could detect any predators lurking nearby while the elk drank. Though from what the demon could see, there were only smaller creatures lurking in the woods, too small to cause the elk heard any harm. Forest cats, nocturnal birds of prey and the like.

The demon's gaze turned back towards the elk as they continued to drink, taking the opportunity to look over the females. A few of them read with a secondary source of life energy, a baby growing inside of them. The demon prince nodded in agreement once Impa realized this as well. "Yes, I see some of the females are pregnant as well, a good addition to their herd." The demon prince spoke, his voice hushed. "Hm, it looks like a few are carrying twins." The prince observed, glancing over a few of the females once more.

Though, what held the demon's attention were the stags that were in the group. Prixlezub's gaze roved over the horns that had grown on the younger males. It looked like a few of them were in their first year, while others had not even a rack upon their heads yet. They leaned down to drink as well, though the younger ones were more quick to prick their ears to a sound they heard. After a few moments though their heads returned to the water to quench their thirst.

It would be interesting to see what sort of bucks they would become in a few years time, if they survived that far.
