    A Room That Doesn't Melt!

    Wow… what a DAY.

It had been incredible enough for Sokka to have been pulled from his own world to this one, but that had hardly been the start of it all. Even though a part of him was still sorting through the difficult emotions wrought by the discovery of what had happened to his homeworld, he knew that he could contend with that. After all... he was from the Southern Water Tribe... he knew how to go with the flow. And somehow... somehow his instincts were telling him that even though Suki, Katara, Aang, Toph, and Zuko weren't here, that each of them were out there somewhere. Safe... sound... and all right. Whether they were still back in other moments in time in his own world or transported elsewhere, so long as they were okay somewhere, that was all that mattered.

Tapering from unbelievable start of having been whisked away here though was something that was still pretty amazing to him, and he had had the better part of the day to sort through this one. That was the fact that he had not only run into someone from his own world, but he had met Korra, the next Avatar. Korra… the next incarnation of Aang. And as of today… his new friend.

    Avatar Korra…

That encounter had been a great one, and although Sokka knew that both of them still had a lot to catch up on from both of their times (which was saying something as that was what they had spent most of today doing!), he was still excited that even in the strange whirlwind of events that had brought him here, he had at least got to meet her. There were obvious disadvantages to being pulled here, that much was certain… but it seemed that there were also some unexpected surprises…

Getting to meet Korra was one… and meeting Toph's daughter was another.

The chance to meet, or re-meet her even, had been beyond surreal… and only after everything had settled there had Korra directed Sokka downstairs to get set up with a room of his own. There, he had met the innkeeper Link, a young boy who seemed to have already taken a liking to the Water Tribe warrior, which was perfect because that was most definitely mutual. Sokka had never met a Hylian before, but the kid was great and he looked forward to getting to know him just about as much as he did Korra and Lin.

And now… only now did Sokka find himself settling into his room. Link had been nice enough to give him the room next-door to Korra, and as he made his way more into it, he couldn't' help but let out a contented sigh.

He would certainly have to customize the place to make it feel more like home, but even as he fashioned or found Water Tribe and similar items to really make this place his own, there was one truth here that Sokka found especially nice. It was something he had learned to appreciate in Omashu, and something he liked even more as he had continued to journey across the Earth Kingdom… something that held true here as well.

    This room…  would not melt.

Sokka didn't just like this room… with that fact? He LOVED this room.

Did Sokka say he loved this room?

    Strike that.

    He REALLY loved this room.

The more he explored it, the better and better it got. He had already got a good idea of some of the new features that this more modernized world had, many that went far beyond those technological innovations that had arisen by Korra's time, but actually getting to mess around with and test out some of them on his own? It sated his curiosity as well as intrigued him all the more.

This place had some seriously advanced plumbing, far better than anything that he had seen even in the inner city of Ba Sing Se… it had power and lighting that were not dependent on coal-burning or firebending… and now, not only was he in a world with it, his own room had some great examples of it. And to start to investigate things a little more as he was set to begin winding down for the night, he moved through to the most logical room, one that was full of all sorts of neat appliances… the kitchen!

Walking into the room from the den area, Sokka's expression slowly shifted into a pleased grin. He might not have stocked the place with food just yet, but regardless of the fact that the Stock Pot Inn provided free food around anything he might make or keep here, he could tell that he was going to like the technological advancements in here… a LOT.
