Sheik could not help but grin further at Machi’s own happy exclamation. Somehow, even though she had already figured this out just by looking at the piece he had found, the surprisingly adventurous Kikwi’s response made this seem even more real. Finally! After the first clue that Impa had found, they finally had the second piece of the puzzle… and given the nature of Kinstones, it was quite literally that.

Exchanging another happy glance and quick laugh with Link, the disguised princess turned back to Machi, letting their happy moment settle just a bit more before she spoke again. “Machi… I know that you found this and were so kind to bring it to us… would you mind if we went ahead and took it with us? I would like to show it to Impa as soon as we can.”

Although she certainly wanted to show it to her guardian as quickly as possible, Sheik was not about to just rush off or even attempt to warp back too quickly. No, she was very excited, but although she knew that she, Link, and Tatl would get back to the Stock Pot Inn as quickly as they could, she knew that it was best not to get too far ahead of herself.

Regardless of the fact that he was the holder of the Triforce of Courage instead of Triforce of Wisdom (or even the Triforce of Power for that matter), Link was all but set to start running back to the Stock Pot Inn as soon as they properly bade their farewells to Machi. He did not rush into things QUITE as quickly or as readily as his older counterpart – The Hero of Winds – did, but he still had a tendency to jump into action more quickly than not. Quick observation and quick instincts (the latter of which were usually quicker once he used them!) were the way that he did things, and although as he was growing he tried to do better about rushing headlong into more things, the simple aspect of that would always be a core tenet of his personality. At least he was able to grow, learn, and mature. At a later point, the Hero of Time would likely reflect on that and be proud of himself.

Almost perfectly punctuated by another happy series of chimes from Tatl, Link exchanged another excited grin and involuntary laugh with Sheik. As soon as he glanced ahead though, she herself had turned to Machi to make sure that he did not mind if they went ahead and took the Kinstone. He could not imagine that their friend would, especially since he brought it to them, but it was always nice to ask!

Even with as excited as he himself was over finding the golden Kinstone piece in the first place, then of course being able to rush off to find his other Hyrulean friends, then actually FINDING two of them plus one of the fairies so quickly, and THEN seeing that this Kinstone piece was exactly what they had been looking for? Machi could not help but find Link and Sheik’s excitement contagious! It was all that the Kikwi could do not to quiver from any more excitement than he already had! He loved being able to be helpful, and this was possibly one of the best chances of that yet!

When Sheik and Link turned to him, the former asking if he minded if he minded if they went ahead and took the Kinstone with them, he nearly had to stop himself from blurting out a response before the young Sheikah could finish speaking. Trilling happily, Machi soon stated, “Kweeeeee-heee! Of course I don’t mind! It is yours! That Kinstone piece belongs to all of you now! I know you want to get it to Miss Impa soon! Please take it And please be careful going home!” He could see them soon! This was too exciting to wait!
