Aw yiss, it was always pleasing seeing a lady excited for his cooking! Diana was cautious and let the plate stand, cooling off as she processed his words in regards to the city and an escort. Looks like he'd be getting to go on a nice late-night stroll! "Yeah, the city's not a bad place. It's uh... loud. But it's got lots t'do. Never was a fan o' crowds!" Probably because he was rather large and not at all sneaky. And while he didn't mind the attention of ladies, it was always a burden trying to duck through crowds or squeeze into smaller areas without feeling self-conscious. "I dunno what yer into fer fun, but I'm sure you'll find somethin' t'do!" While he had her attention, it'd probably be best to bring up a few details about the place, just to keep the young woman aware of her surroundings.

"Lemme tell ya somethin' important, too! Don't want ya flounderin' all scared." Furrowing his brow, Boon made a quick mental list before 'reading' it aloud, "first of all... the city's t' safest place. Y'all stay in the main areas, and not go to th' Outer Districts, and you'll be safe and sound! Out there 'r outside the city, however..." The daemon's tail flicked quickly as his head shook a bit, an uneasy look on his face. "It ain't too common, but ya could get mugged or worse... and I'd die if that happened t'ya!" Talons clasped at his shirt, right above his heart as he mimicked a pain in his chest. The gargoyle rolled his eyes and let out a snort, but the daemon didn't notice as he continued.

"What else...?" There was a pause before Boon snapped his fingers, "oh! Right. There's a place in th'city called the Sanctuary." He shrugged, but went on. "It's a safe place, obviously. Y'all should check it out sometime. You'll make friends fast there, and friends go a long ways here!" Which was very true, and though he wouldn't say it so brazenly, Boon hoped Diana could consider him a friend. "I think that's about all I can remember... just be nice and you'll be treated with nice back!" A simple rule, and it (mostly) held true.

Diana moved the cooled plate from the table to her lap, not wanting to seem as though she were ignoring the food he had made for her. “Oh, ah understand that hon, ah was attendin’ university in the biggest city in mah state before ah got here.” She said. It is quite a bit different compared to the small town she’d grown up in, and she could certainly understand Boon not quite liking it, the poor dear was so big he’d stick out like a sore thumb. “Well, mostly ah like cookin’ and bakin’, so ah’m sure ah can find something ta’ do with that here.” She smiled up at him. Speaking of cooking she decided to start cutting up a bit of her trout, still mostly keeping her eyes on Boon as he spoke but occasionally having to glance down.

“Alright, sugah, ah’m listenin’,” She reassured him when he said he had something important to tell her. She took a dainty bite of her her trout and smiled at the taste, cooked just right, breaded just so- “By the way, the trout is lovely, hon” She continued to eat as he told her how the city was, ironically, the safest place around and to stay away from the Outer Districts. The idea that she could be mugged or worse was a scary thought, but he concern he showed for her well being was just so heart warming. Diana reached out to put her hand on his own and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Thank you so much for tellin’ me all this, and carin’ about mah safety, it really means a lot, sugah.” She let go of his hand and brought her own back to her lap.

He paused a moment and Diana took another sip of her drink, it was running a might low by now though. “The Sanctuary, huh?” A bit on the nose too, but maybe that was just the way of this place. She nodded as he explained the Sanctuary and told her that she’d make fast friends in there. That certainly sounded nice, being in a strange place, ripped away from everything she knew… “Alright hon, ah’ll keep all a’ that in mind! Thank you again for helpin’ me get the lay of the land here” She gave him another winning smile before trying some of the mash, her face lighting up as soon as it hit her tongue. “Sugah, lemme tell ya’, this is simply lovely! Mah compliments to the chef.” She giggled and winked at him.

"Aw shucks~ Yer too kind, Miss Ridley!"

The daemon went quiet for a bit, thinking if there was anything else to add. Obviously, being careful outside of the city, the Sanctuary, how the world worked as far as he knew... there wasn't much else he could suggest! "There's lotsa places in th'city that would no doubt hire a pretty gal like yerself!" There wasn't much else he could say, so Boon gave a quick look around the place, seeing if anything else needed to be done. Nope! The patrons were happy, including Miss Diana, and Collins was still working at the bar without much fuss.

    Hmm...
"I ain't got a clue what else I can tell ya, but y'all should enjoy yer dinner and rest a bit! I'll be right back. I oughta go clean up the kitchen some before Colly tells me t'do it." Collins gave a look from even across the way, but said nothing as the daemon stood up, bones cracking in his knees as he did so. "Take yer time and enjoy some peace. I'll get ya t' the city safe 'n sound afterwards!" Giving a small nod and a grin, the daemon turned away and went into the kitchen, returning in a bit once it had been sorted. There wasn't too much to do, but it was better keeping things tidy instead of hearing the gargoyle bark at him for being a lazy poff.

"Oh now, ah don't think so, but you're surely the pot callin' the kettle black~. You been so sweet ta' me this whole time." She smiled.

While Boon was quiet Diana took a few more dainty bites of her food, sure she was hungry but she was also a lady, and ladies didn't make messes, especially not in front of such a sweet gentleman. She dabbed her mouth with a napkin occasionally and turned her attention back to the daemon when he started talking again. "Oh sugah, now you're just tryin' ta' butter me up." She flicked her wrist at him, blushing a little bit but keeping an easy smile on her face.

She nodded to the daemon. "You've been very helpful Boon, ah really appreciate it. And ah'm sure that ah'll enjoy the rest of it, it's been so good so far!" Diana waved to the daemon as he got up. "Alright hon, ah'll be here when your done."  Once he had gone Diana returned to her food and drink, finishing off the trout and and the mash, savoring the latter especially. When she was done she set the plate back on the table next to her and took the last couple sips of her drink, she'd hoped that with the intake of food she wouldn't end up too tipsy, it'd be right embarrassing to stumble around like a fool in front of Boon. Or anyone really.

Once the daemon returned he would find that little lady ready to go, purse and parasol in hand.

Aw yiss~ Let the lady enjoy her meal and drink! While Boon felt a little bad leaving Diana to herself, he also knew it'd be best for her to eat up and take things in slowly instead of rushing. Besides, he (and Collins, to a lesser degree) caught the lady up on what this place was and what she could do!... It wasn't much, but it was more help than they got upon first arriving. The more information and help people can get when they start out, the better things will be for them in the long run. Just take that snazzy bot Lunette brought home a while back for example!

Nevertheless, there was an order waiting and ready to be cooked, and the daemon got right to it! It wouldn't be too long, especially since Collins stepped inside and Boon hoisted him up by the back of his coat, placing him in front of some potatoes. "Mash these fer me, will ya? I gotta keep an eye on that steak--can't let it get too cooked!" It'd be a crime letting such a fine piece of meat go from rare to well done! All the juices and flavor would be nonexistent! "... Alright then." Not fussing or fighting about it, the gargoyle beat the hell out of the potatoes, Boon just raising a brow before carefully inspecting the steak.

    Da na na naaaaah!
And lo, the dish was finished! Boon was ready to serve it, stepping out of the kitchen only to be stopped by Collins, who hovered up and snatched it quickly. "Wh-hey! I was gonna do that!" "That's all fine, but you've got someone waiting for you..." The gargoyle tilted his head over to Diana, who held a parasol and purse in hand and looked ready to go. "... Oh~ Well, er... thanks!" Collins gave a look and left the daemon's side as Boon removed his apron and scratched the fluff atop his head, messing it up just a bit more. He approached, and gave a small bow in greeting, "howdy! I see yer all set t'git goin', huh?" Giving one last glance to the other worker, Boon smiled and held the door open for Diana, letting her out first as he followed.

"I uh... can't really fit too good on th'bus, ya know... B-but I can carry ya if y'all get tired of walkin'! Ain't a problem at all~" Was this just an excuse to carry Diana in his arm, showing off how strong he was? Yes. Was it also the truth that he couldn't fit well in the bus? Also yes. Those horns made things a little hectic in tight spaces, after all... And painful, too. They don't bend, despite their nice curve. "I'll take ya to th' inn first. Get ya nice and settled in!"

Diana may post once more if you feel it's needed, but otherwise, Boon/Collins have finished replying~

The pale lady didn’t have to wait very long after she’d finished her meal and drink for Boon to return. She watched as he was ready to deliver a dish to another patron, and she would have been more than happy to wait just a bit longer to let him do it but it seemed Collins thought differently. Quick as a whip the gargoyle scooped the dish out of the daemons hands and motioned to her with tilt of his head. She smiled and waved at the two of them when attention was brought to her.

Diana couldn’t help but giggle at the bow and return it with a little curtsy of her own. “Indeed ah am, hon.” They made their way to the door, when Boon held it open for her she directed another smile at him. “Thank you, Boon,” She said before walking back out into the night. Her heels clicked on the wood as she descended the steps and she took a good moment to just take it all in. Everything looked pretty normal to her, present company excluded, so it was almost hard to believe she was in a whole new world.

Boon starting talking, mentioning how he could really fit on a bus really, the poor dear. It would be a long walk she thought for  just a moment before he mentioned that he’d actually carry her if she got tired, and he sounded quite pleased to do so. Unbidden the thought of being carried in his strong arms came to mind. Don’t blush, don’t blush, don’t blush. Alas, her complexion betrayed her once more as her pale face lit up red.

“Thank you, sugah, ah’ll-ah’ll keep that in mind.” Diana reached out a hand and touched his arm and smiled up at him once again, trying not to think of just how muscley he was. “Thank ya’ again for this, hon.” She’d have to think of some way to repay him for all his kindness, her certainly didn’t have to help her out so much with the free dinner and information, let alone walking her to this free inn he’d mentioned. “Yeah, that sounds nice…”

((Looks like we're done here then!))
