    From Coffee to a Home

After having a wonderful coffee fueled outing with Ms. Nyreena, she and Daemeon were on their way to the Stock Pot Inn, arm in arm. Of course the arm in arm action was just a formality. Daemeon didn’t really care if they had linked arms, he just offered it as a suggestion. He was still unsure how he felt about Ms. Nyreena. She seemed like a good being, having been one of those that the previous Daemeon had screwed over that offered this Daemeon a chance to prove he was nothing like the older Daemeon. The demon couldn’t help but grin. From what he had gathered, this previous Daemeon had been reckless and chaotic in his actions. “Sounded like a real nut case,” he thought. “But I’m nothing like him…”

Daemeon let Nyreena lead because he honestly had no clue where this inn was in the city. He was still puzzled by everything here from the sky scraping buildings to the horseless carriages that crowded the streets. All of this would be unheard of back on Caerlia. “Oh well, those would be experiments for a different time. Right now, I need a place to stay.”

“So how big are these rooms at the inn?” Daemeon asked, breaking the silence as the two of them entered what he had guess was the Stock Pot Inn.

As they were heading to the Inn after having their coffee and their conversation Nyreena was gratefully glad that that part was over. Managing to keep things nice and simple so that she didn't reveal anything too personal she was at least able to keep the others safe. If she managed to keep up the charade that she had been playing so far her plan to keep the others informed just might pay off after all. However, she couldn't get too over confident about this or else she might tip Daemeon off about what she was really up to.

Seeing that he was letting her take the lead in where to go she dutifully took it, using the quickest way she knew so that the demon could remember it for future use. That way, if he did, she would know exactly which route he was taking to keep a better eye on him. As well as Dominick since she also showed him the same way when he was still getting used to the layout of the city. She was still so glad that the dhamphir was in her life and loved her so much that he would make sure that she would always be safe, especially with what she was doing now.

Looking at him when he asked how big the room was she mused for a few moments. "Hmm. I'd say they're pretty big. Good size kitchen with a little dining area, a big living room and bedroom that has two closets, a bathroom, and a little sitting area with a desk. Plus it's all furnished so that you can get comfortable quite quickly." As they walked in she led him over to the front desk and rang the bell. "Link? Are you around, by chance?"

Looking around the inn, Daemeon couldn’t help but admire the interior design. It was simple but inviting and warm. Something the demon was not used to. He was used to cold, unforgiven furnishings of either his home in the Underworld or his laboratories scattered throughout Caerlia. He hadn’t seen anything this cozy or welcoming in millennia.

He walked up to the counter and began to look around too. “Where are the staff in this joint? Surely there has to be someone working in this place.” Looking behind the counter, the demon saw no one. “Well, where are they?” he asked impatiently.

Glancing at Daemeon as he looked around the place Nyreena hoped that he would find some form of comfort from the place like she has over the years being here. Whatever it was she always felt a great sense of hospitality and warmth from it and it really felt like a good home that she always wanted to be when she wanted to.

Looking around herself, wondering where Link was, she wondered if he heard her or not. Looking at Daemeon and seeing how impatient he was getting she got a worried look and looked around some more. "Well, the kitchen staff are in the dining room, the security guard is probably in her office, and the janitor is must be cleaning something." Finding the bell on the counter she dinged it a few times. "Link? Are you around somewhere? I have someone that needs to get a room please!" She really didn't want to keep Daemeon waiting any longer in case he got mad from having to wait so long.

(OOC: Apologies for the unintentional delay! Far too many things came up all at once at work and I’ve only just now recovered from them. Thank you both for your patience!)

Normally, there would have been someone at the front desk of the Stock Pot Inn this early in the afternoon, even if Rosa the head cook was just passing by, but as it was, today had been an unusual day to say the least. Tetra had come back to port from one of her main sailing adventures, and she, Sheik, Link, and Link were having a more relaxed adventure of their own. Impa had taken the quartet of her charges out to a much needed feast of a lunch around their epic reunion. Tales and stories abounded, and that was understandably just part one of everything. As the meal had wrapped up, the four Hylian kids soon took off for an adventure of their own, and Impa began to head back to the inn, with the promise for all of them to meet up later.

Thankfully, her return to the inn wound up being only a couple of minutes behind the arrival of Nyreena and the new tenant.

As the Sheikah reappeared at the front of the inn, she opened the main door just in time to hear Nyreena’s second call. She perked up at the request, and of course at seeing their familiar tenant… along with a face she recalled yet had not seen in some time. Her red eyes narrowed a fraction as she took in the form of the demon before her… there was no doubt about it, this had to be Daemeon. However, just as his appearance and aura were unchanged from when she had last seen him, there was something verifiably different about him. It might have been a case of another version of him being whisked away to the Breach… it might have been something else entirely. Regardless, she was set to make sure that this new arrival was able to get a room.

“Link is not around right now, but I can certainly help you,” stated Impa, announcing her own presence from behind the pair. Making her way to the front with purposeful steps, the Sheikah slipped behind the desk and added, “Today brought some unexpected events, but I am back now; I do apologize for any wait you might have had. Now then… you need a room, yes? Do you have a preference of floor?”

Giving a slight bow at Impa, the demon eyed her quizzically. He knew when he was being checked out, not in that way, by someone. There had been plenty of humans that wished to gain the upper hand on him or saw through his facade. This woman was doing the latter of the two. So in return, Daemeon gave her a warm grin.

“I’d prefer to be on the top most floor,” Daemeon said with a cheerful note. “I prefer being close to the sky so if there is a room with a skylight, that would be perfect. If not, I guess I could live without.” The demon leaned against the desk.

Really starting to get worried that Link might be on a lunch break or something Nyreena heard the front door open and turned. Seeing that it was Impa she sighed in relief and smiled, glad that they could get some help before Daemeon got too impatient. Smiling as Impa made her way around the desk she nodded in understanding to the explanation. "It's alright, Impa. And we really weren't waiting that long, anyhow." Letting out a soft sigh she nodded again, letting Daemeon answer this time to the latter questions.

The top floor? Oh, great. That meant that he would be just one floor up from Dominick. Which meant that whenever she went up to see her boyfriend Daemeon was going to be near, putting them both in danger in case he found out which room was her dhampir's. Knowing that she needed to warn Impa just in case she leaned against the counter a bit while invisibly duplicating herself and sending the clone behind the counter. Quickly working she grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and wrote a quick note.

A Note from A Concerned Ghost:
Impa, this is not the same Daemeon as from before. I need to ask you to keep an eye on his room so that in case he may be up to something we can get into it so we can stop him before he can make his plans come to light. We may all be in danger of this new Daemeon and what he may planning.

Once the clone was done she slipped the note into Impa's subtle view, and out of Daemeon's, so that she would find it after they were done and she could be on the alert just in the case the worst came to light. The moment it was set the clone returned to the main Nyreena like nothing ever happened.

Impa was pleased to hear Nyreena confirm that they had not been waiting too long. Nodding to Daemeon at his slight bow, Impa soon returned his grin with a soft smile of her own. Façade or not, at the very least, this demon appeared to be of a better mindset than his predecessor… that simple interaction did not prove that two versions of the same person was the exact case here, but it did certainly lend a great deal of plausibility to the idea.

As Daemeon requested a room on the top floor, Impa instantly ran through the mental list she had of open rooms on that floor. Pulling out the room log, she stated, “We don’t have any rooms with skylights, but we do have easy access to the roof. And here we are… Room 447.” Making a note of that in the book and moving to set up a new room form, Impa kept up her work without pause even as she sensed a new presence behind the desk. Invisible to the naked eye and nonthreatening as it was, the Sheikah waited for this offshoot of Nyreena to finish her task as she herself made the proper notes for the paperwork side of things. Quickly reading over the note in a completely imperceptible way, Impa fished out a key from the card key drawer, holding that ready as she set the new form on the desk for Daemeon to sign.

    Room: 447
    Date: April 2nd, 2018
    Name: ___________________________
    Signed: __________________________

“All right, here you are. If you can just write your name and sign here, this card key will be all yours.”
