As the last bit of flame left his maw, Nym breathed heavily, smoke billowing from his mouth and nostrils as his pupils remained constricted. His vision was stuck on Curiosity as they swerved and fell, smashing into a rock and falling limp while cinders charred the body. Nothing about this made the digital monster feel victorious or heroic, only feeling rage that slowly began to subside, pupils dilating to their normal size and tension within his body decreasing. Eventually, Nym hung his head and stared blankly at the ground, wanting nothing more than to run off and hide, feeling ashamed and guilty of his actions...

    "Hey..."

The voice caused him to turn his head slightly, glancing at the woman who's wounds began to slowly regenerate. Eyes only focused on the wounds and her face for a few seconds before returning to stare at nothing, listening to Ariana as she asked if he had helped her... and explained a few things, such as having clothing nearby, and another assailant hidden in shadows.

For an uncomfortable amount of time, Nym had said nothing, merely releasing light growls and rumbles from his body as he slowly processed everything; the fight, the surroundings, their actions and unnatural blood-lust. Whether something had attached to them was not his concern, and for the moment, he didn't wish to ask or even investigate.

"... There was an assumption you would lose your life in your fight against the wyvern," he said quietly, not even looking back at her, nor at the now unconscious Nargacuga. He was questioning himself, whether he did the right thing or not. Curiosity was unconscious, and Ariana was alive and healing, but had he not intervened, would either of them had died from their wounds? Would they have stopped? Were his actions just unnecessary violence on his part...? There was so much Nym felt at that moment, it was hard to focus on much else.

Turning his large head towards Ariana, he gave her hair a mighty snuff, taking in her scent. "... I will take your to your belongings. The hidden woman can tend to her fallen comrade." Nym turned the rest of his body around, barely even giving Ariana a second glance as he stepped past her and stopped, tail lifting up and towards the woman to be used if she could not walk well on her own. "After that, we will part ways," he said matter-of-factly, stepping onward and through the forest once the woman was ready to depart.

Nym is escorting Ariana to her bag, and also protecting her from any possible sneak attacks.

Silence settled between the two. Ariana honestly wasn't sure if the creature could talk. The downed one definitely couldn't! She did remember him coming between the two, and maybe he'd tried to speak sense into her? But it was so fuzzy and hard to tell. Maybe he wasn't capable of human speech at all. With this assumption in mind, she began to assess herself. She ran a hand through her scalp, wincing at how wild and tangled her hair had become. Not to mention the stickiness of dried blood and splashes of dirt. Deeper wounds had been repaired, but shallow scratches still remained, and there were more than a few ugly bruises. Her skin was a little swollen in places, with red welts. The young woman was no longer in danger of bleeding out, but she'd definitely need to visit the hospital for a blood transfusion and a few other odds and ends. "What a crazy night..."

"... There was an assumption you would lose your life in your fight against the wyvern,"

...Oh. He could speak. The reptile didn't seem eager to look at her, nor their shared opponent. The woman crossed her arms over her chest, fingers furling into her own skin. "I thought I was gonna die..." Ariana's eyes fell down to the dirt, seeming to stare right through it. Her savior was an odd one, someone she'd never met. She couldn't tell what he was thinking, or even feeling. Was the creature who saved her glad to have helped? Or ashamed? The chaos of the evening seemed to affect even him. Whatever the case, the woman could only feel gratitude. "He had me in his mouth..." Death seemed like a mere swallow away. How did it...change? A voice... A familiar voice...

    Snuff!

Air rushed through Ariana's scalp, the woman jolting in place as she raised his gaze. Snapped out of her thoughts, brown eyes looked up at the larger scaly creature. Ah, he was sniffing for her scent. "T-thank you." The large dinosaur continued to walk, though a thick tail lingered by her to help prop her up. Ariana accepted it gladly, hands clasping over the scales and leaning upon it. "That's fine with me. I think I'll be fine to get back to the city." Her walk was a tad awkward, trying to use her arms to keep herself covered as she used his tail as support. The woman didn't spare a glance towards the woman or her steed, preferring to forget about them for now.

Eventually, the two found their way to Ariana's bag. A normal brown bag resting up against a tree with her glasses set on top. The tree had a few claw marks dug into it, the woman lightly resting her hands against the slashed bark before glancing down. Smiling softly, she fell to her knees by the bag. "Thank God..." Pushing the glasses up her nose, her shoulders sagged with relief at having her vision back in full. Rifling through the bag, she withdrew the spare clothing inside. Simple undergarments and socks, a gray baggy t-shirt, khaki shorts, and a pair of sneakers. She shifted behind the tree to change, ignoring the feeling of dried blood rubbing against fabric. Who cares if the clothing got dirty? She was already a mess! This was still better than being completely naked. Once comfortable, she stepped out of hiding and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you again for saving me. You didn't have to step in." It could have gotten him seriously injured, or even killed. "Before you leave...I should actually introduce myself." Fingers combing through her hair again, Ariana looked up at Nym and gave him a smile. "I'm Ariana." It was the least she could do for the being who stepped in to assist. The least she could do before they parted ways.

Each step was slow and deliberate, Nym keeping an even pace as Ariana followed behind him as best she could. For the moment, the rage had subsided, along with any signs of guilt... or any emotion for that matter. His mind was pretty empty, or trying to be, and Nym was fine with that. He just wanted to get the woman to her bag and be done with this entire day... The fire from his previous attack made his mouth warm as he licked his lips, feeling parched and dry. There was a river nearby... he'd have to take a nice drink from it before heading off. A grumbling sigh escaped him as the scent of the woman's bag rushed his nostrils. Pausing, Ariana stepped forward to the bag while Nym turned away, slumping his backside against a tree and sitting on the ground.

The Digimon felt ready to fall over and sleep by this point, but kept himself alert and steady, mostly in case the Nargacuga's rider would appear in retaliation. Something told him they wouldn't, however, considering the amount of time that has passed and the lack of their scent being strong enough, hinting they were close by or not. Maybe they abandoned them once Nym intervened...

"Thank you again for saving me. You didn't have to step in."

Something about that made his body tense a little. Many ugly emotions were trying to writhe their way up, but Nym held them back, keeping stoic and calm. Releasing a grumbling sigh, he stood up from his spot and looked down at the woman who introduced herself as Ariana. Ariana the werewolf... yes, that's something Nym would surely remember. He leaned in a little bit and gave another mighty snuff of her hair, scent now stuck to his memory. "It was of no trouble, Ariana," he said quietly as he stood erect once more, "it is nice to meet you. My name is Nym."

Introductions aside, she seemed ready to head back to the city, more than capable enough to do so without assistance. "I will leave you to your journey back. May your days be well," he stated before stepping beside her and onwards into the forest.

    ---

A few miles off, Nym found the river, more of a babbling brook, that he had heard before and began drinking quickly as if dying of thirst. The water rejuvenated his throat and mouth, leaving a clean taste instead of a burning one, and once quenched, Nym was off again. Through many trees and trenches and thick brush until there was an alcove beneath a hill, surrounded by trees and hidden from most. It had thick, cushy grass set, almost like a bed, and Nym promptly plopped onto it and curled up as best he could. Before any thoughts could bother him, the Digimon swiftly fell asleep, hoping to wake up to a better day...

With her glasses on, Ariana could finally take in her savior's features. Strange, wispy wings that stuck out of his spine. A large metal arm, part of his chest was mechanical, and there was something of a helmet atop his head. With impressive horns too. The golden eyes that peered through the eye-holes were very intelligent and fierce. A strange being to encounter, but she wasn't one to judge. His nose came down, sniffling at her hair once again. Perhaps for memory? She would have done the same had she still been a wolf. When he stepped back, the woman's hands came down and folded together over her stomach. "It's nice to meet you too. If we ever meet again, I uh...hope it's under better circumstances." Ariana gave him an awkward smile.

"Be safe!" She waved at his departing form, and lo the two were separated. A part of her wondered what duties Nym had to attend to. Did he have a home out here? A giant cave, perhaps? The woman didn't wonder for too long, remembering that she'd been on the brink of death not long ago. That mysterious woman and her steed could still be nearby. Grasping the straps of her backpack, she tugged it on loosely. Years living in the Breach made Ariana familiar with this land. Her steps were quiet and quick, barely brushing over grass as she ducked beneath trees. Glances were stolen upwards, remembering the crimson eyes that had glared down at her during the fight. So far he wasn't following, but the longer she went without seeing him, the more afraid she became. Soon she had taken off in a jog, forcing her way through the woods until finally...!

Ariana broke through the treeline, panting furiously. Before her lay the flat stretch of grasslands, and the city twinkled like a star on the horizon. A hand grasped at her hip, rubbing the sore spot as if to make it stop throbbing. "Almost there..." Well, not really. There was still a ways to go. But...Ariana felt more secure here. No sneak attacks from above, not in the plains. She hobbled stubbornly, her eyes narrowed on the city ahead.
