    Sowing the Seeds

Wind swept across the valley as a certain demon strolled through it. Daemeon had his hands in his pockets as he walked along a babbling brooke. Grinning ear to ear, he pulled out a small leather bound book from his pocket. It was his backup notebook. “Let’s see if this works,” he smiled as he flipped through the book. This one was a normal book, unlike his unholy tome that was still back in the city, but it still held secrets and knowledge the demon had gathered while exploring this strange new world. Daemeon thumbed through his notebook until he reached his the page he was looking for: the Rotten Vale.

“Rotten Vale is a poisonous and hazardous area of The New World. Bones and corpses pile up, generating toxic fumes that are extremely harmful to Hunters and render even docile Monsters aggressive, and an entire ecosystem revolving around decomposition. Venture into the depths of the Rotten Vale in your journey to unravel the mysteries of the Elder Crossing,” the demon read this in his mind as he continued to walk upstream to a magnificent waterfall. He had found this passage while rummaging through the library in the city and it absolutely intrigued him. A entire ecosystem that stemmed from the destruction of lives. It just screamed Dark Energy to him. That is one of the biggest producers of Dark Energy back on Caerlia: Death. This was the demon’s plan all along, but it was just the tip of the iceberg…

Closing his journal, Daemeon stopped at the edge of a pool at the base of a waterfall. In the middle of this pool was a small patch of land. The demon opened his jacket and pulled out several plants from within. They were the the same plants he had picked this earlier this afternoon. The demon had spent the entire day infusing them with his Dark Energy so they all looked like violet tulips. Planting them all along the edge of the pool, Daemeon lept over to the patch of land and pulled a small tree out of his jacket as well. It was only a foot high and planted in a small pot. Daemeon planted this violet leaf tree on this little island. It’s bark was pale as a corpse and the roots instantly took to the ground, digging deep and spreading fast.

“Good… Good…” he whispered as he blinked to the edge of the pool. Placing one hand in his pocket, the demon snapped the other. The vegetation began to radiate a pale violet-black light. “Now… we wait…”
