Dreading That Something is Terribly Wrong

Post by Dominick Comzistradt on Mon May 21, 2018 4:34 pm

The moment that Nyreena had left to go deal with Daemeon and the shit he was putting her through just the day before Dominick was nothing but a bunch of nerves and worry. He loved Nyreena with all of his heart and eternal soul and was willing to let her go to deal with this, respecting her wishes to not get anyone else involved in what she kept calling her “stupid, reckless acts” so that they wouldn’t get hurt. But at the same time he wished he had done more to convince her to let him go with her so that she could have some sort of backup in case things went down and she was caught in a situation she couldn’t get out of. But when she didn’t return that night or all day today his sense of worry skyrocketed and he could’t help but feel that something had happened and Daemeon did something to her that prevented her from coming home.

Standing on the roof of the Inn that evening he was pushing his senses out as far as he could, hoping to pick up on some sign of her aura. Though he could pick up on another’s aura when they were in close proximty of his senses he was having difficulty sensing someone from far away. Though his senses would be much sharper and more powerful if he did the one thing he was supposed to be doing. Drinking blood to keep his powers at their full strength. Even though he hated his wretched vampiric half he still couldn’t bring himself to feed off of another human in order to keep what he was fully powered and at peak condition. To him it was a moral and psychological battle that he had been fighting for well over most of his life once he found out what kind of a monster he was. But if he was going to find the love of his life and save her from the danger that she might be in that battle was going to have to be decided in the very, very, very near future.

As he continued to try and push his senses as far as they could go he also figured that he was going to need some help in going to find where she went to and what might have happened. But to him, as of late, he had no idea who would be willing to join him on his search for someone that was hardly trusted at this point. Even though most of her actions were due to the horrible realization that she was being, in a word, “possessed” by the bastard demon’s blood from the apparent older version that was here before. He could only hope that he would be able to find at least someone to help him in finding his love before it was far too late or else he would have to beg the ISOs for their help in the matter. Only precious time would tell......

Overzealous civilians were always a thorn in Bruce's side. True, some would and have called him nothing more than an uptight citizen, a vigilante fighting a war he created himself. But Bruce had many things these people did not. Brawn, cunning, experience; he was a civil servant by nature and that is exactly why he found himself at the Stock Pot Inn, not as a prospective resident, but as a professional detective.

He wasn't standing here now, swooping down low from his gliding patrol, landing gracefully and almost completely silently on the rooftop because of the strange man who shared it with him, though. His best intell had come from the social hotspot in the city that Nyreena was up to no good with Daemeonl; he understood their history, but it was neither safe nor calculated to confront him in the way she did. What was he here for, then?

Bruce was here to take her in for murder. She did kill the man, after all. That cannot be ignored, for whatever reason. He wasn't entirely sure how the ISOs handled that sort of thing here, where death was temporary, but he can't imagine that this behavior is something they would condone. Whatever the consequences - no matter how minor - the both of them would answer for their aggression and crimes. He looked forward at the man, the sad wreck of a man, trying very hard to do something on this very rooftop, and quirked his eyebrow up. It was not yet dark enough for him to need his visor to make out the figure of Dominick Comzistradt, a citizen he had never actually met, and whom he knew very little about. There was something though, and the only thing Bruce needed right now.

    "Dominick."

Announcing himself and potentially breaking the intense concentration he seemed to display, the Batman walked slowly towards the grieving party. "Where is Nyreena? I'm here to speak with her."

Even though he was pushing his senses to the extreme Dominick could sense the man that had silently behind him. But to the dhamphir even he could hear the crusader land on the roof behind him. Kind of not hard to miss when you have acute hearing due to having vampire blood running in your veins. Hearing the figure walking towards him he stayed where he was and continued to push his senses to try and find Nyreena. When he heard his name he turned his head a bit to stare at the other man, seeing that it was the strange Batman that Nyreena had told him about. "Yes? How can I help you?"

When he heard that he was looking for Nyreena and that he needed to speak with her Dominick turned his head back and staring off for a few moments he sighed and hung his head. Reaching up he rubbed the bridge of his nose as he thought of the best answer to give this Batman. And the only answer that he had...was the truth. To be fair, Dominick wasn't used to lying since he used to be so straightforward when it came to the job at hand.

"Nyreena...isn't here. She was mysteriously confronted by Daemeon earlier this week who threatened her to either get the notebook she gave to the ISOs or else she would suffer the consequences. And only had three days to complete it. She couldn't get it back from them by yesterday so she....she left to follow where Daemeon is located and tell him that she couldn't get and hopefully save everyone from having to save his wrath and his plans. She hoped to walk away from it and return late yesterday night but...but she hasn't returned. And I'm getting worried that something happened that she wasn't able to get away from."
